Martin Di Nenno, Javi Garrido and the others: 19 Top-30 FIP ranked players ready to shine in Albania

Less than a week remains before the start of the FIP Platinum Albania — set to take place in the stunning Skanderbeg Square in Tirana from May 26 to 30 — where some of the biggest stars in world padel will compete. In the Albanian capital, 19 players from the Top 30 of the men’s FIP Ranking will battle for the title. Alongside the tournament’s top two seeded pairs, Mike Yanguas–Franco Stupaczuk (1) and Coki Nieto–Jon Sanz (2), several other big names will be in action, including Martin Di Nenno, Javi Garrido, Javi Leal, and Tino Libaak.

Martín Di Nenno The Argentine player, born in 1997 in Ezeiza near Buenos Aires, is part of the generation that helped drive padel into the modern era. Currently ranked No. 13 in the FIP rankings, he has previously climbed as high as World No. 3. He established himself on the professional circuit alongside Spanish legend Paquito Navarro, with whom he shared the court between 2021 and 2022. After that partnership ended, he reunited with Franco Stupaczuk — the teammate with whom he had dominated junior padel — forming the famous “Superpibes” duo. Since then, he has partnered with several players, including Juan Lebrón and Leo Augsburger. Before reuniting with Navarro starting from the Rome Major, Di Nenno will compete at the FIP Platinum Albania alongside Jairo Bautista (25).

Throughout his career, Di Nenno has won three Premier Padel titles with three different partners: Doha 2023 with Stupaczuk, Finland 2024 with Juan Lebrón, and Madrid 2025 with Leo Augsburger, defeating World No. 1s Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia in the final. In 2024, he also became world champion with Argentina after defeating Spain in the final of the FIP World Padel Championships.

Martin is also a central figure in the sport because of his personal story. In 2016, at just 19 years old, he was involved in a devastating car accident. The two friends traveling with him lost their lives, while Di Nenno spent ten days in intensive care. He suffered fractures to the femur in his right leg and the kneecap in his left leg. Doctors initially believed he would never be able to play padel again. However, Di Nenno refused to give up and worked relentlessly to return to the court. After months of rehabilitation, he successfully made his comeback to the professional circuit.

Javi Garrido

Javi Garrido The Spanish player was born in Córdoba, Spain, in 2000, and in Tirana he will compete alongside Brazilian player Lucas Bergamini. His strongest weapon is his smash, a skill that allows him to perform especially well on faster and outdoor courts. Currently ranked World No. 19, Garrido has previously reached the Top 10. Together with Bergamini, he reached the final of the Premier Padel P2 in Newgiza in 2024, losing to Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas. Earlier that same year, Garrido also reached the final of the Doha Major in Qatar alongside Yanguas, facing Tapia and Coello. Among his previous partnerships was also one with current World No. 3 Federico Chingotto.

Tino Libaak

Tino Libaak The Argentine’s rise came in 2023 when, alongside compatriot Leo Augsburger, he began making waves in Premier Padel tournaments. The pair became heroes for Argentina’s national team during the 2024 FIP World Cup Championships. They played the decisive match in the final against Spain, defeating Mike Yanguas and Paquito Navarro in a third-set tie-break and securing the trophy for Argentina in historic fashion. Libaak will also be in Albania, where he will play alongside Alex Chozas.

The Others In addition to the players already mentioned, Tirana will welcome many of the world’s top padel stars. One of the highlights will be the reunion of Javi Leal (12) and Fran Guerrero (16), winners of the FIP Platinum Marseille in February and semifinalists at last year’s Italy Major Premier Padel in Rome. Also in the spotlight are the pairs Juanlu Esbri (22)–Alex Ruiz (23), Maxi Arce (46)–Alex Arroyo (20), and Javi Barahona (26)–Gonza Alfonso (31). The FIP Platinum Albania will also feature the player who currently holds the record for most titles on the CUPRA FIP Tour (15), alongside Gonzalo Rubio: Italian player Flavio Abbate, who will compete with Alvaro Montiel.
