Gala and Jensen, another comeback to reach semi-finals. Di Nenno-Bautista, Salazar-Alonso and Osoro-Iglesias also through

First came their round-of-16 victory over second seeds Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz, followed by a 4-6 6-3 6-4 quarter-final win against the tournament’s number 7 seeds, Alex Ruiz and Juanlu Esbri. David Gala and Enzo Jensen have become comeback specialists at the FIP Platinum Albania: for the second consecutive day, they lost the opening set before winning the next two. Those comebacks secured their place in tomorrow’s semi-finals. The two 2006-born players — Gala ranked No. 33 in the FIP rankings and Jensen No. 68 — will face fourth seeds Martin Di Nenno and Jairo Bautista, who won 7-6 7-5 against Edu Alonso and Aimar Goñi in the second match on the centre court in Skënderbeg Square.

Following the morning session, two of the four semi-final pairings in the women’s draw — those from the top half — have also been confirmed. Victories went to top seeds Ale Salazar and Ale Alonso, who defeated Marta Caparros and Julieta Bidahorria 6-3 6-4, and to fourth seeds Aranzazu Osoro and Victoria Iglesias, who beat Carolina Orsi and Patty Llaguno 6-1 6-4.

The afternoon session is scheduled to begin at 17:00, with three matches on centre court and one on court number 2, all with free entry.
