The week that will conclude tonight with the finals of the FIP Platinum Tirana has been an unforgettable one for Padel and, more broadly, for Albanian sport. From 18:30, Skënderbeg Square is once again ready to welcome a large crowd for the final two matches, which will award the titles and 300 ranking points available at the season’s second FIP Platinum event. The action on court promises to be outstanding, with Ale Salazar, Ale Alonso, Marina Guinart and Veronica Virseda competing for the women’s title, while Franco Stupaczuk, Mike Yanguas, David Gala and Enzo Jensen will battle for the men’s crown. Once again, however, the atmosphere in Albania’s most iconic square will be just as special.
Approximately 20,000 people attended the event over the five days of the main draw, across the centre court and the three additional courts hosting the competition. The tournament featured 42 men’s pairs and 33 women’s pairs across the main draw and qualifying rounds, involving a total of 150 athletes representing 14 different nations in the men’s competition and 11 different nations in the women’s competition. Seventeen players ranked inside the top 30 of the FIP Rankings competed in the men’s draw in Skënderbeg Square, while 14 of the world’s top 30 players took part in the women’s event.
SOCIAL AND WEB Images of Tirana and the FIP Platinum Albania reached audiences around the world through the social media channels of the FIP (International Padel Federation, which organised the tournament in collaboration with the Albanian Ministry of Sport, Tourism and Culture) as well as the event’s dedicated platforms.
