For the first time in its history, Albania is preparing to host one of the most prestigious tournaments on the International Padel Federation circuit. The FIP Platinum arrives in Tirana: from 26 to 30 May, the iconic Skanderbeg Square will become the home of Padel, a sport that has achieved global status at a record pace.
The FIP Platinum Albania, organised in synergy between the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, the Albanian Padel Federation and the International Padel Federation, will, for one week, host some of the best male and female players in the world. With free entry to the stands of the centre court and the three additional courts that will be set up in Skanderbeg Square, entertainment and high-level competition are ensured. The FIP Platinum Albania will represent a significant opportunity to discover Padel and to strengthen the country’s image as a destination for major international sporting events.
A total of 28 pairs will compete in the men’s and women’s main draws scheduled from Tuesday 26 to Saturday 30 May; 32 pairs will instead take part in the qualifying draws, which will begin on Sunday 24 May. The prize money will amount to €150,000, with the winners – as in all FIP Platinum tournaments – earning 300 points in the FIP World Ranking, the official international ranking of Padel.
