FIP PLATINUM ALBANIA

When international padel reaches its highest level, FIP Platinum tournaments set the stage. The world’s best players compete for crucial ranking points in an atmosphere of pure spectacle, where talent and passion meet.

From May 26 to 30, Tirana and Albania will experience it for the very first time — with FREE ENTRANCE.

At the heart of it all will be Skanderbeg Square, the symbolic centre of the capital, transformed into the vibrant stage of an unmissable week. A perfect setting that reflects the unique bond between padel and city squares, which have already hosted some of the sport’s most iconic moments — from Krakow’s Main Square during the 2023 European Games to the legendary Plaza Mayor in Valladolid.

The FIP Platinum is the highest tier of the CUPRA FIP Tour, the global circuit of the International Padel Federation (FIP). These tournaments are among the most prestigious stops of the season, featuring a prize pool of €120,000–€150,000 and 300 ranking points for the winners, along with the presence of top international players fighting for glory.

The FIP PLATINUM ALBANIA proudly joins this elite calendar, bringing world-class padel to the country.

More than a competition, a FIP Platinum is a celebration of sport — a global showcase that inspires new audiences, highlights emerging talents and connects cities to the international padel movement.

In Tirana, at the end of May, sport and community will come together for a truly unforgettable experience!

CUPRA FIP TOUR

The CUPRA FIP Tour is the professional circuit of the International Padel Federation (FIP), spanning five continents and featuring players from all over the world. Its extensive structure allows athletes and emerging talents to compete in a truly international calendar, test themselves against the sport’s top players, and earn valuable points for the FIP World Ranking.

The Tour is structured into four categories: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze, each offering different levels of ranking points and prize money. Platinum tournaments represent the elite, with the world’s top players competing for prize pools that can reach up to €150,000. Gold, Silver and Bronze events are equally important, providing opportunities not only for established champions but also for the NextGen — a vital breeding ground for the sport’s global growth and the development of future stars.

In 2025, the CUPRA FIP Tour featured 166 events, with over 300 tournaments held across men’s and women’s competitions and more than 5,000 athletes taking part. In 2026, the calendar will expand even further, with more than 200 tournaments set to host a total of 400 competitions across five continents. A clear sign of the Tour’s continued growth, reinforcing its role as a key reference point for players worldwide.

Skanderberg Square

In the vibrant heart of Tirana, Skanderbeg Square stands as a powerful symbol of identity, history, and modernity. Reopened in 2017 after a major transformation, it has become one of the largest pedestrian spaces in the Balkans—a monumental yet welcoming place designed for people to gather, connect, and live the city.

Its 28,000 square meters of stone paving, sourced from all Albanian regions, form a unique mosaic that unites the country in a single design. The gently rising surface creates a subtle pyramid effect, while over one hundred fountains add movement and freshness in the summer months. Around the square rise Albania’s key cultural landmarks, including the National Museum, the Opera House, the National Library, and the Et’hem Bey Mosque. At its center stands the iconic 11-meter Skanderbeg Monument, the enduring symbol of the city.

This extraordinary setting will now host the FIP PLATINUM ALBANIA, transforming Skanderbeg Square into a world-class sporting venue.

Four panoramic courts will be built, including a spectacular center court where the world’s best male and female players will compete. The center court will feature FREE ENTRANCE stands with a capacity of around 1,200 spectators, alongside dedicated technical areas, warm-up zones, locker rooms, and media facilities to support international broadcast coverage.

Surrounding the courts, a 400-square-meter hospitality area will welcome partners, institutions, athletes, and guests, offering a premium experience where sport, culture, and connection meet. A vibrant fan zone will complete the atmosphere, giving spectators the chance to meet players, join autograph sessions, take part in padel clinics, and discover the sport in a truly engaging way.

In this unique arena, where history meets innovation, the event will create an unforgettable moment for Tirana and for all padel lovers.

The FIP ranking is the only official world ranking for padel, managed by the International Padel Federation (FIP), tracking players’ best 22 results over a rolling 52-week cycle, where players must match or better their performance in the same weeks of the previous year to retain points in their ranking.

It calculates points from QATAR Premier Padel Tour and CUPRA FIP Tour tournaments to determine eligibility for tournaments.
