Albania has chosen Platinum: the most prestigious tournament of the global CUPRA FIP Tour arrives in Tirana from 26 to 30 May

Albania joins the CUPRA FIP Tour through the front door, hosting the highest category of the circuit organised by the International Padel Federation (FIP): the Platinum. The CUPRA FIP Tour consists of four levels and has experienced impressive growth since its creation: from just six tournaments in the inaugural 2019 season to 318 tournaments in 2025 — according to the World Padel Report — distributed across 166 events, most of them organised in combined format, featuring both men’s and women’s draws simultaneously.

More than 5,000 athletes were involved, and in 2026 the CUPRA FIP Tour is continuing to expand further, surpassing 200 events and 400 tournaments across five continents. These figures confirm the global expansion of padel, with Albania once again becoming part of the international scene after hosting the FIP Promotion Albania Open in 2023.

And in the iconic Skanderbeg Square in Tirana, from 26 to 30 May, the very best of the CUPRA FIP Tour will be on display, with 300 FIP Ranking points awarded to the winning pairs and a draw featuring some of the world’s leading players alongside rising NextGen talents.

Within the pyramid structure of the International Padel Federation circuit, following the reorganisation introduced in 2025, there are also FIP Gold tournaments (150 points awarded to the winners), FIP Silver (80) and FIP Bronze (40). The event in Tirana will be the second FIP Platinum tournament of the season after the one held in Marseille in February, won by Spaniards Javi Leal and Fran Guerrero in the men’s competition and by compatriots Lucia Sainz and Raquel Eugenio in the women’s event. Other Platinum tournaments already scheduled include Paredes (Portugal, June), Lyon (France, September) and Mexico (November).
